One of the World’s Most Celebrated Skateboarding Events Makes Its Videogame Debut
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – September 11, 2008 – Compete for stance supremacy! Black Box, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq: ERTS), announced today that it will be partnering with leading global action sports footwear and apparel brand, etnies, to bring their epic Goofy vs. Regular (GvR) skateboarding contest to the videogame world. Gamers will lead a team of goofy foot or regular foot pros as they pit the best skateboarders against each other in the ultimate team competition.
“The Skate franchise has always been committed to showcasing the spirit and soul of skateboard culture,” said Executive Producer, Scott Blackwood. “The etnies GvR competition celebrates the fun, creativity and talent in skateboarding today. Featuring the event as one of the main competitions in Skate 2 felt like a natural integration and a perfect fit.”
Skate 2 picks up five years after the original Skate, a period marred by an unspeakable disaster that left San Vanelona in ruins. Within that time, Mongocorp rebuilt the city but their zealous protection of private property has put a damper on the once thriving skate population. Equipped with double the bag of tricks, gamers are tasked to rebuild their career and revive the New San Vanelona skate scene. With their ability to get off-board to move objects around and with help from a crew of locals, players will embark on a mission to take back the city, one spot at a time. Along the way, they’ll need to get coverage, earn sponsorships, own challenges and enter contests, including a coveted invite to etnies GvR competition. (more…)

LOS ANGELES, Calif., August 27, 2008 - The Casual Entertainment Label of Electronic Arts, Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) unleashes the star power behind its upcoming BoogieTM SuperStar game for WiiTM today with the announcement of international music sensation Natasha Bedingfield as the game’s featured spokesperson. Additionally, EA unveils the full Boogie SuperStar soundtrack including nearly 40 hit singles made famous by today’s hottest artists.
Bedingfield, who has topped the Billboard charts with number one singles and albums in both the U.S. and the U.K., has joined forces with EA to promote the game, which allows girls to perform their favorite Bedingfield songs including her current single “Angel,” “Love Like This,” and the title track from her new hit album Pocketful of Sunshine.
“Boogie SuperStar brings to life all the fun and excitement of performing,” said Bedingfield. “Being on stage is such a thrill and it’s great to be a part of an EA video game that lets girls experience how much fun it is to express themselves and explore their own creativity by performing.”
In Boogie SuperStar, players don’t just play along, they are the star of the game. Girls will have a blast belting their favorite tunes into the microphone, and performing real dance moves that are captured on screen using the Wii’s motion-sensing technology. The journey to stardom doesn’t have to be a solo! Girls can also sing and dance with their friends or against them in fun competitions that show-off their singing and dancing talent.
“Boogie SuperStar represents a new level in the convergence of games and music,” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive for Music and Marketing. “EA has combined the very best game interactive capabilities of the Wii technology and the Boogie brand to form an unprecedented soundtrack with the hottest new tracks made famous by the biggest artists in the world today. We’ve been actively involved in Natasha’s career since its inception, and we’re proud to have a star like her actively involved.”
Featuring nearly 40 of today’s hottest tracks plus additional tracks for an International version, Boogie SuperStar will have girls bursting with excitement as they discover they can both sing and dance to their favorite songs in one game. The North American version of the game will also feature four hidden tracks-each can be unlocked with a code provided by four major retailers.
Developed at EA Montreal under the EA Casual Entertainment Label, Boogie SuperStar is exclusively for the Wii and will be available in North America and Europe October 2008, and in Asia in the following months. The game has an MSRP of $59.99 and comes with a microphone included. For more information, visit http://www.boogiesuperstar.ea.com.
